Redact a bank statement before you share it

Landlords, lenders and visa offices often ask for a bank statement, but they rarely need your full account number or every detail. Re-Doc finds account and card numbers, names and addresses on the statement and removes them, while the balances and transactions you choose to show stay readable.

Example

What Re-Doc changes

Orange boxes are what Re-Doc finds on its own. Text-based files keep their layout, and each real value is swapped for a realistic synthetic one.

What to removePage 2 of 3
Checklist

What to remove, and what to keep

Usually removed

  • Account and routing numbers: the details someone could misuse
  • Card numbers: full numbers printed on the statement
  • Your name and address: if the reader does not need them
  • Payee names you choose: tell Re-Doc which transactions to hide

Usually kept

  • Balances and totals
  • Transaction dates and amounts
  • The bank's layout and logo
Tip

Check what the requester actually needs. Many only need your name, the bank and the balance, so you can remove everything else.

How it works

Three steps

  1. STEP 1

    Upload

PDF, Word, TXT, scan or photo, up to 50 MB. Sign in with Google; the first 10 pages are free.

  2. STEP 2

Re-Doc highlights every change. On scans you can add or remove boxes; for any file you can describe what to keep or remove in plain words.

  3. STEP 3

    Download

Get the safe copy in the same format you uploaded, with the layout unchanged.

QuestionsPage 3 of 3

Frequently asked questions

01Can I keep my name but hide the account number?
Yes. Write a short instruction such as "remove only the account and card numbers" before you start.
02Will the numbers still add up?
Amounts are left as they are unless you ask to remove them, so totals stay correct.
03My statement is a downloaded PDF. Does that work?
Yes. Downloaded statements are usually text-based PDFs, which get realistic replacements and keep their layout. Scanned or photographed statements get black boxes.
04Is it free?
The first 10 pages are free after signing in with Google.
