Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Re-Doc's document redaction and text replacement services ("Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our Services.
2. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website with a new effective date, and for significant changes, by email. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you must stop using the Services.
3. Description of Services
Re-Doc provides AI-powered document processing services that help users identify and anonymize sensitive information in documents. Our Services include:
- •Document Redaction: Using OCR and AI to detect sensitive entities and apply black-box redactions to scanned documents and images
- •Text Replacement: Replacing sensitive data with synthetic values in native PDFs and DOCX files while preserving document formatting
- •API Access: Programmatic access to our processing capabilities for integration with your systems
4. User Accounts
To use certain features, you must create an account through Google OAuth. You are responsible for:
- •Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- •All activities that occur under your account
- •Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access or use
- •Ensuring your account information is accurate and current
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are inactive for extended periods.
5. User Content and Output
5.1 Your Content
"User Content" refers to documents, images, and other materials you upload to our Services. You retain all ownership rights in your User Content. By uploading User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Services to you.
5.2 Output Ownership
"Output" refers to redacted documents, text-replaced documents, and other results generated by our Services from your User Content. You own all Output generated from your User Content. We claim no ownership rights over your Output.
5.3 Content Responsibility
You are solely responsible for your User Content and ensuring you have the necessary rights to upload and process such content. You represent that your use of the Services does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use our Services to:
- •Upload malicious content, malware, or files intended to harm systems
- •Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
- •Process documents you do not have authorization to access or modify
- •Attempt to circumvent usage limits, security measures, or access controls
- •Interfere with or disrupt our Services or servers
- •Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Services without authorization
- •Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our source code or algorithms
- •Use the Output or any data from our Services to train, improve, or develop any AI or machine learning system
7. AI Processing Disclaimer
Important: Our Services use artificial intelligence which may not identify all sensitive information.
You acknowledge and agree that:
- •AI-powered redaction and text replacement may not be 100% accurate or complete
- •You are responsible for reviewing all Output before sharing or publishing
- •We make no guarantee that all sensitive information will be detected or redacted
- •The quality of Output depends on the quality and format of input documents
- •Our AI models may be updated, which could affect processing results
8. Service Limitations
Availability: We aim to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance, updates, and unexpected outages may occur.
Usage Limits: Free accounts are limited to 10 lifetime pages. Paid plans have monthly limits as specified in our pricing. Unused pages do not roll over.
File Limits: Maximum file size is 50MB. Supported formats include PDF, DOCX, and common image formats (PNG, JPG, JPEG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, WEBP).
Service Changes: We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services with reasonable notice.
9. Payment Terms
For paid subscriptions:
- •Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance
- •Payments are processed securely through Stripe
- •Prices are subject to change with 30 days notice
- •Refunds may be issued at our discretion on a case-by-case basis
- •You may cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period
10. Intellectual Property
Re-Doc and its original content, features, functionality, software, and trademarks are owned by Re-Doc and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Services or software, nor may you reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code, except as permitted by law.
As stated in Section 5, you retain ownership of your User Content and Output. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over the documents you process through our Services.
11. Termination
By You: You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at support@re-doc.com. For paid subscriptions, you may cancel through your account settings.
By Us: We may suspend or terminate your access immediately, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law. We may also terminate inactive accounts with reasonable notice.
Effect of Termination: Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately. Sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification survive termination.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ALL SENSITIVE INFORMATION WILL BE DETECTED OR REDACTED. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RE-DOC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, OR GOODWILL, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICES, UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO YOUR DATA, OR ANY FAILURE OF AI-POWERED PROCESSING TO DETECT OR REDACT SENSITIVE INFORMATION.
Liability Cap: Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or relating to these Terms or the Services shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100).
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Re-Doc, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Services; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights or applicable laws.
15. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Services, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.
16. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Pune, Maharashtra, India.
17. Dispute Resolution
Before initiating any legal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at support@re-doc.com to attempt to resolve any dispute informally. If we cannot resolve the dispute within 30 days, either party may proceed with formal dispute resolution as permitted under applicable law.
18. Feedback
If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, or ideas about our Services ("Feedback"), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, modify, and incorporate such Feedback into our Services without any obligation to you. You waive any rights to compensation for Feedback.
19. Severability & Waiver
Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by Re-Doc.
20. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other agreements expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and Re-Doc regarding the Services and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications, whether written or oral.
